Jesse Thomas Came To Mind...

These images are by Stan Carpenter.
The 1st is from the Keatchie Folk Festival, circa 1992. The 2nd is from New Orleans Jazz Fest, circa 1993.
Charles Chamberlain called from The Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans and wants to include Jesse in an exhibit of Louisiana Blues legends. Sounds fitting to me.

Louisiana Dan: The Highbrow...

...I forgot that I once performed with the symphony. You can check it out by clicking on the image.

Mustang Sally...

...is an all woman band from Nashville that is currently playing at Sam's Town Casino, here in Shreveport, LA through this Sunday. I've got to try to go see them because their lead player is Lynn Campbell, one of the best blues guitarist you'll ever meet, not to mention an incredible vocalist and songwriter. She's gorgeous, too! She hails from New Zealand and spent some time here in Shreveport playing with a number of bands, as well as fronting a few (Lynn Campbell and the Dashboard Saints and Lynn Campbell and Campbell Soup come to mind) and here is a shot of Lynn (in the middle) along with Dr. Cookie and me at The Noble Savage. We worked briefly as a trio and would use Lynn as a gun for hire in a couple of bands that we ran through the casinos, down here. We even did blues festivals and made television appearances together in New Orleans. If she comes touring through your neighborhood, I highly recommend that you check her out!!

Who is that man behind the Foster Grants? This just in...

...truly a blast from the past. Mac Gillen emailed these two shots, of Jesse Thomas & me, taken at the 1995 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Many thanks, Mac.

O Toronto, Canada...

Photos are courtesy of Fran Poole (soon to be recognized as the great torch singer she is).
That's Fran singing at the podium,

...and Chef Lynn Boutin, owner of Boutin's in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, playing (not laying) an egg,

...and here I negotiate with Blackbeard(doesn't he look a little like Jimmy Edwards?) the pirate.

...now if I can only figure out how to get the photos off off my cellphone.

Louisiana Dan is Canada bound...

I'm not sure how or why, but I'll be headed up to perform in Toronto from September 27th through the 30th, representing the music of Louisiana.
Aw, shucks....

I Couldn't Resist Including This:

This was from back in 2000, when I was playing every weekend at James Burton's Rock-N-Roll Cafe in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sometimes when Mr. Burton took the stage I would have to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Watching history unfold at Shreveport's Municipal Auditorium!

With my friend and inspiration, Tillman Franks onstage at the Municipal.
I recently witnessed one of the greatest shows at the James Burton International Guitar Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana. Legendary James Burton onstage amongst friends and fans really shook the seats in this historic venue. Many times I have crossed those stage planks with thoughts of the greatness that had gone before. Now I look forward to the greatness of things to come.

Listen to some of my songs...

"You're either on the bus or off the bus."
-Ken Kesey
from "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" by Tom Wolfe

Looks like we're on the bus!!
