Louisiana Dan

Some were born to legend, some of us had to fabricate...

Name: Louisiana Dan
Location: Lickskillet, Louisiana, United States

I performed 13 years with blues legend, Jesse "Baby Face" Thomas , recording and appearing on the festival circuit with him until his death in 1995. Since then, I have recorded and performed throughout the United States and produced a number of CDs that have documented the roots music of Louisiana. I currently work for The Tipitina's Foundation of New Orleans.

I Couldn't Resist Including This:

This was from back in 2000, when I was playing every weekend at James Burton's Rock-N-Roll Cafe in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sometimes when Mr. Burton took the stage I would have to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.

Watching history unfold at Shreveport's Municipal Auditorium!

With my friend and inspiration, Tillman Franks onstage at the Municipal.
I recently witnessed one of the greatest shows at the James Burton International Guitar Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana. Legendary James Burton onstage amongst friends and fans really shook the seats in this historic venue. Many times I have crossed those stage planks with thoughts of the greatness that had gone before. Now I look forward to the greatness of things to come.
